Glasgow - the city council and planning:

At the core of Glasgow is an area now known as the Merchant City after the 18th 'Tobacco Lords' who traded with America. When the rich moved out and the markets moved elsewhere, the area fell into disrepair. Today, the Merchant City is successfully reinventing itself. Councillor Gordon Matheson is the local councillor for Glasgow's Merchant City. He explains why planning permission is important in a historic area like the Merchant City and how Glasgow City Council attracts investment and tourists to the area.
