What is a skyscraper?
A skyscraper is a very tall building supported by a steel frame inside it. The world's most famous skyscraper is the Empire State Building in New York. Built in 1931, it stands 381 metres tall. The tallest skyscrapers today are the twin Petronas Towers in Malaysia. They stand 452 metres high, 152 metres taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, which was itself the tallest building in the world until 1930.
