Rainbow Hues

We can often see a rainbow when the sun shines while it is raining. The raindrops act like tiny prisms. Each one splits the sunlight into the 7 colours of the spectrum - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet - proving that white light is a mixture of these colours.
