Male sea horses appear to turn the laws of nature upside down by giving birth to young. The female lays her eggs inside a pouch on the male's stomach. Holding up to 200 eggs, the pouch bulges as though the male sea horse was pregnant. After 4 to 6 weeks the eggs hatch and the babies are expelled from the pouch.
